Not every divorce has to be a battle.
At LoBiondo Law, we offer divorce and family mediation as respectful, solution-focused alternative to going to court. Whether you and your spouse already agree on most issues or need help bridging the gap, mediation can help you resolve matters efficiently — and often at a fraction of the cost of litigation.
With over 35 years of experience as a family law attorney and certified mediator, Juliana LoBiondo has helped hundreds of couples move forward with clarity, control, and dignity.
Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process where a neutral third-party mediator helps both spouses work through the legal and practical issues of divorce. This includes:
Custody and parenting time
Division of property and debts
Child support and maintenance (alimony)
Drafting a clear and enforceable Separation Agreement
Juliana does not represent either party — instead, she guides the conversation, helps identify areas of agreement, clarifies the legal landscape, and works toward solutions that feel fair to both sides.
Mediation may be a good fit if:
You and your spouse are willing to communicate respectfully
You agree on most issues or are open to compromise
You want to avoid the time, stress, and cost of litigation
You value privacy and want to keep court involvement to a minimum
You want to protect your children from unnecessary conflict
Did you know that anyone — with or without legal training — can call themselves a mediator in New York State?
There is no licensing, regulation, or minimum qualifications required to offer mediation services. That means:
A person with no legal background can draft your Separation Agreement
You may end up with an agreement that’s incomplete, unenforceable, or even harmful
If mistakes are made, you could spend thousands later trying to fix them in court
At LoBiondo Law, your mediation is conducted by Juliana LoBiondo, a:

How many divorce or custody mediations have you handled?
Do you prepare the Separation Agreement yourselves, or refer it out?
What happens if we need to file in court — can you help with that?
What’s your process, and how long does it typically take?
What’s included in your fees? Are there any hidden costs?
